Centrex has been delivering its maintenance services to its clients successfully since 1997 using a principle of NO outsource, and always delivering its services via its own designed and IT supported network to ensure full control of ALL assets, having honed this skill and IT competence Centrex are now launching the Totebox network to open its  use of this competence across our wider client base Taking our on-going lean operational model in the IT Technology sector and our innovative approach to modernisation of supply chain methodologies. Early in 2022 a team was put together to research and do a feasibility study in the Energy sector, how it purchases parts and supports the warehousing and distribution of parts and reverse engineering of those parts and establish the viability of introducing what we would term as a disruptive methodology to purchase, hold and distribute parts to field service engineers

How the services are provided and who are the companies involved and how are the processes managed. Delivering what and where in the supply chain. Is it connected, Efficient, Environmental and cost effective. More importantly can the Centrex model impact positively in this sector

· Initial investigation by the team found the sector to be much like the IT supply chains, multiple suppliers with many regional operators offering various services to the major national players

The single thing in common with all was the logistics supply chain which was dominated by two suppliers (co-incidentally) both whose history began in the IT sector were the main options for the energy sector in supporting their field engineers with parts/products for installation/maintenance

One a traditional carrier the second a fixed static box network provider much like many of the e-commerce sector operators. A fixed box network has limited space and load capabilities which restricts access and complicates the returns process thus increasing costs and reliability and remains a singular supplier of one part of the supply chain

October of 2022 Centrex became aware of a small Energy sector company becoming available in the sector and in 2023 purchased the company. 

The purchase was based on the feasibility research into the sector started in 2022. This gave us a hands on insight as to how the supply chain worked in this sector, It was effectively a distributer of parts to clients Field engineers as well as a seller of domestic and industrial meters with logistics provided by the two main field support companies, After reviewing the operational costs and requirements of the clients. We set about developing our software to deliver an end to end solution including APP development, Systems integration and fundamental overhaul of the last mile process, Key steps in applying an environmentally cohesive lifecycle solution

Stock holding – We can supply customer order requirements, ex-stock, on a wide range of products and can also supply to order on the more uncommon items.
